CIBC / FBC Westend Academy Addressing the Needs of the Community.
When we began in 1997, we had zero dollars and supported THE ACADEMY ourselves until we received community support. We are doing the same now, restarting as volunteers, implementing one program at a time, participating in programs that are already available, like those at the public libraries and the GED program from the Board of Education.
CIBC WESTEND ACADEMY has now become CIBC/FBC Westend Academy because of the exciting opportunity to serve two communities instead of one. Space will be rented at two locations: 4700 Washington Blvd., St. Louis MO 63108 and 1050 Milwaukee St., Kirkwood MO 63122 at the Oliver J. Lemme Education Center.
The CIBC/FBC WESTEND ACADEMY’s theme is “IT’S A FAMILY AFFAIR!” Of course, children are our focus, but we must accept the fact that the family environment is the first and most lasting influence on a child. So, we are determined to develop programing and/or collaborations that take us from the cradle to the grave. Addressing family and societal needs will help our children build better futures, become better students and citizens, and have a positive impact on the entire community. Academy Activities →
